2026 Coaching Appointments
Matt Brancatisano will be returning to the Unicorns in Season 2026 following a year-long sabbatical travelling the globe. Matt was the Head Coach of the Reserves from 2022-2024 and has demonstrated a bright coaching future in his time already. Alongside the role leading the Reserves, Matt will also continue his development by playing a role as an Assistant Coach for our Senior team throughout 2026. Welcome back Branca!
Following a successful season in 2025 where he stepped up as a playing Head Coach of the Reserves, Nick Cambell will continue his coaching journey as a playing Assistant Coach for the Reserves. Nick will be a crucial support for Matt and offers great continuity for a Reserves group that has consistently played finals but is looking to take the next step in 2026 with a Premiership the goal.
Jai Raptis joined the Unicorns as a player in our U19s a couple of years ago and his leadership credentials quickly came to the fore. Following a year as an Assistant Coach for our Development Squad, Jai will step up and take the reins as Head Coach of our junior team this year. Our current aspiration is for that to be an U19 team, however a final decision on that will be taken closer to the season commencement. Congratulations Jai.
2025 was one hell of a season for Kevin Pious. Development Squad Premiership Coach & Sam Silberberg Award winner. In 2026, Kevin Pious will take on a newly created role of Football Operations Coordinator & Assistant Coach. His coaching focus will be young player development, with match day involvement across both the U19s and Reserves teams as required. On top of this, Kevin will take on a larger role assisting Andrew Saultry as the Football Operations Coordinator, supporting the management of the program.
