Round 8 saw the Unicorns hit the road again, this time facing another formidable challenge in Whitefriars. On the last weekend of autumn, under a clear, sunny sky, MHSOB was determined to learn from their disappointing loss last week and turn their fortunes around.

Round 7 delivered the ultimate test for MHSOB as they faced ladder-leaders Old Yarra on a sunny yet windy Saturday. Eager to build on last week's victory, the Unicorns arrived at one of the league's largest grounds ready for a challenge.

Round 6 saw us hosting Aquinas and wearing orange socks to recognize & create awareness around family & domestic violence. We had an education session at the club Thursday night and gratitude must go to the committee for organizing a great weekend to focus on such an important cause.
R5 2025 | Seniors at St John’s OC
A perfect day for football at Thomas Carroll Reserve in Dandenong led to a high-scoring, attack-heavy game of football that showed off some fantastic stretches of MHSOBFC footy as well as moments where concentration lacked.
R4 2025 | Seniors at St Marys Salesian
On a picture-perfect autumn afternoon at Ferndale Park, the Melbourne High School Old Boys put together a gutsy performance to claim a heart-stopping 3-point victory over St Marys in a match that lived up to every ounce of its pre-game hype. The Big Footy pundits may have tipped the Unicorns to falter by as much as eight goals, but the away side had other plans in mind.
R1 2025 | Seniors at Hawthorn
Melbourne High headed out to Rathmines Road Reserve in perfect conditions to start the 2025 season against Hawthorn. With 4 debutants, Lucas Judd, James Lees, Yonal Gunawardena, and Leo Motyl-Coverdale in the side, there was plenty to be excited about for the first hit out of the season.
R18 2024 | Seniors vs St Marys Salesian
MHSOBFC finished the season in a style we probably wish could’ve been demonstrated more often; high scoring & accurate kicking, plus some good ball movement and celebratory beers.
R17 2024 | Seniors at Brunswick
Round 17 saw MHSOBFC head west to Gillon Oval to face off against the top of the table Brunswick. Although finals were out of reach, there was still a lot to play for to build some momentum into next year and have an impact on Brunswick’s momentum leading into September.
R16 2024 | Seniors at Bulleen Templestowe
MHSOBFC travelled to Bulleen Templestowe on Saturday with a slight chance of finals still on offer. A couple of changes to the side including the return of former senior captain and best & fairest winner Julian Eimutis. The opposition were in bottom position, three wins shy of the Unicorns and with relegation on the line.
R15 2024 | Seniors vs Elsternwick
This weekend we returned to the Woodful-Miller oval for round 15, a must win game against Elsternwick, to keep our season alive. We had drawn with them earlier in the season and were confident leading in given that result.
R14 2024 | Seniors at Whitefriars
MHSOBFC’s annual trek to Whitefriars College Oval brought about another wet July afternoon. The clash was crucial to the side’s finals chances, with the Unicorns sitting 5th on the ladder and Whitefriars in 4th .
R13 2024 | Seniors vs Wattle Park
The MHSOBFC Unicorns emerged victorious from a muddy and low-scoring encounter against Wattle Park, securing a crucial 67-47 win. While the final scoreline might not suggest a tense battle, the Unicorns battled hard for every point. This win keeps their finals aspirations alive, with next week's clash against Whitefriars being a must-win encounter.
R12 2024 | Seniors vs Hawthorn
It was a grand occasion down on the fabled grass of the Woodfull-Miller Oval; a pivotal clash with Hawthorn, alongside no less than three premiership reunions as the main show of a MHSOBFC triple-header. A large crowd turned out to support the side, who were treated to a classic high-scoring affair paired with some of the best catering the VAFA has ever seen, courtesy of a luncheon catered by club sponsor Union House.
R11 2024 | Seniors vs Aquinas
Late June. Grey clouds. A muddied centre square and a heavy football. It was a day for the true football purists at the Woodfull-Miller Oval when MHSOBFC took on Aquinas.
R10 2024 | Seniors at St Marys Salesian
If you’re reading this and have been away from Melbourne for a few weeks, you could be forgiven for thinking it had rained for the three days leading up to and throughout the round 10 contest, given the cumulative seven goals and 28 behinds. In fact, it was as good as breezeless, and a few of MHSOBFC’s players even had sunscreen on.
R9 2024 | Seniors at South Melbourne Districts
Round 9 brought with it lots of opportunity, as an up and about MHSOBFC, fresh off the back of two straight wins, faced off against South Melbourne Districts who were also in similar winning form.
R8 2024 | Seniors vs Bulleen Templestowe
An in-form MHSOBFC has delivered a commanding 43-point victory over Bulleen Templestowe in a high-scoring affair at the Woodfull-Miller Oval.
R7 2024 | Seniors vs Whitefriars
MHSOBFC delivered a heart-stopping comeback victory against Whitefriars at the Woodfull-Miller Oval, overcoming a second-quarter deficit to win by seven points. The win keeps their finals aspirations alive as they head into a crucial home clash next week.
R6 2024 | Seniors at Wattle Park
MHSOBFC travelled out to Deakin University in Burwood, with the team looking to put four solid quarters of football together and bounce back from their draw last week. The Unicorns welcomed back Orlando Seelander and Aditya Munukutla for their first senior games of the year, adding both height and strength to the backline.
