R3 2025 | Dev Squad at AJAX
Round 3 presented a new challenge – and a golden opportunity – for the newly formed Development Squad: a Sunday 11 AM showdown against AJAX, on their turf. The sun was high, the heat was on, and the stage was set. With a reshuffled coaching lineup — assistant coach Joseph Pious stepping in for a one-off cameo to steady a youthful back six, and Adam Pacak joining forces with Kevin Pious — the JnrCorns were ready to take on the Jackas.
R2 2025 | Dev Squad vs Caulfield GRammar
After a tough 2024 campaign, the JnrCorns entered the new season with fresh energy, a new look, and a new attitude. With Kevin Pious taking the reins as head coach and joined by assistant coach Joseph Pious, there was a clear buzz around the launch of the “Development Squad.” A strong preseason had built belief in the group, and Round 1 at Woodfull-Miller, as part of a triple-header against Caulfield Grammar, was set to be a fresh start. Several new faces joined the squad, including eight players from our growing partnership with Richmond Juniors and a solid cohort from Melbourne High. The tone was set—this was a new group with plenty of promise.
R14 2024 | U20s at St Marys Salesian
MHSOBFC was fired up for a clash at Ferndale Park against St Marys Salesian, in which they knew what to expect from the match given the wet and slippery conditions. With this being the first wet weather game of the year, something all involved were looking forward to, the Unicorns were aware that they had to throw everything they had out there in order to give themselves a chance at their first victory of the season.
R13 2024 | U20s vs Caulfield Grammar
After a couple of weeks off, the U20s returned from the heartbreak that occurred before the break and were looking to build on the momentum the team had gained in weeks prior, with many talented players returning to the team for this clash they needed to get acclimated to the rainy weather and prepare themselves for battle.

Following a gallant loss against St Kevins, MHSOBFC was excited to head down the road to face an old rival in Glen Eira/Old McKinnon on a brisk Friday night. With the return of some key players, and a few fresh faces too, the visitors were excited about the match up.

MHSOBFC was eager to demonstrate their improvement to rivals St Kevins since their previous clash in round 4. With four new players in the team this week, strong communication and cohesion was crucial, and they delivered on both fronts at home on the Woodfull-Miller Oval.

Following a tough outing in their previous match against Old Xaverians, MHSOBFC returned to their home ground for a clash against Therry Penola, eager to play another re-graded team again.

MHSOBFC ventured to Stradbroke Park in Kew to play Old Xaverians in an attempt to notch their first win of the season after encountering some recent heavy losses.

MHSOBFC travelled to Beaumaris on a crisp Friday night for an eagerly anticipated clash under lights. With the first night game of the season, hopes were high for a competitive match.

After a harsh loss in their previous game at home, MHSOBFC came up against ladder leaders De La Salle at Waverley Oval in East Malvern. The Unicorns knew they were coming into a tough game but maintained a firm belief in their abilities.

After a challenging previous game, the U20s returned home to face off against St Mary’s Salesian, aiming for an early victory in their newly regraded division.

After a brutal 160-point loss to PEGS in the previous game, MHSOBFC entered a new division and faced SKOBS in a clash that the playing group approached with a different mindset, hoping for a fresh start to the season.

After a hard fought previous game, round two was expected to be the stage that could kickstart the season for our young group of Unicorns. MHSOBFC was looking to get one back against a familiar Therry Penola side that had given our team trouble in our two previous matchups last season.
